Environmental policy in the U.S. and The United Nations Environment Programme - A Case Study Minamata Convention on Mercury

The main aim of the thesis is an analysis of the U.S. position towards the United Nations Environment Programme and in particular to the most recent convention of the agency, Minamata Convention on Mercury. The theoretical part of this thesis examines the development of collaboration between the United Nations Environment Programme and the United States in chronological terms. Furthermore, introduces readers to the main objectives of the Convention and, finally, the practical part describes the approach of the United States and their role in the context of achieving the Convention, both at the national and international platform.
